Welcome to Flat Rock Public Library

Flat Rock Public Library is a Class IV library member of The Library Network located at 25200 Gibraltar Road, Flat Rock, MI, Wayne County, currently serving approximately 10,541 residents of the City of Flat Rock, approximately 4,997 residents of the City of Gibraltar, and approximately 3,240 residents of the City of Rockwood (2020 U.S. Census).

We are a busy place with many youth and family programs, in addition to patrons using all the resources available here! We are fortunate to have such wonderful community support in all areas. We are nicely situated in front of the Flat Rock Historical Area Buildings, next to a beautiful city park, and just across the park from the Municipal Building, which houses all City of Flat Rock services.

There are eight adult computers and five youth computers available for valid library card holders.  We have a color copier, scanning and fax sending and receiving service.  We have a very busy Local History Room staffed by dedicated volunteers for eight hours per week and an Activity Room for use by local non-profit and community groups.

Our Patrons have access to numerous print (books, magazines, newspapers etc.), and recorded materials. (DVD, CD, VOX books, Books on CD, HOOPLA, OVERDRIVE etc.) Our patrons have access to Chromebooks and Hot Spots for personal use.

As a member of The Library Network cooperative, we also have access to shared resources from over 70 libraries.
